I agree that the topic of martyrdom is very much needed in looking at the culture we live in here in the US, as well as our current crisis in the Catholic Church. We hear on Catholic news like EWTN, the persecution of Christians in places like Nigeria; but a lot of Americans, it seems to me, do not realize the subtle persecution of Christians here in the US. The concept of white or red martyrdom comes to mind. When people refused vaccines, based on their faith, some lost their jobs, their homes, etc., or when people are pro-life and defend the un-born, they too can lose their jobs if they are public in their attitude in the workplace. I think the people experiencing a type of white martyrdom are or can be inspired by red martyrdom as expressed in Robert Royal's two books. I have the first book - Catholic Martyrs of the Twentieth Century...; and am looking forward to reading the newest publication on the martyrs.
